Gnaoui musician playing music ( Morocco)


In Morocco, Gnaoua are the descendants of former slaves hailing from black Africa. Many of these descendants belong to religious brotherhoods whose leader is a musician. Instrumentalists, fortune tellers, médiums, .... also belong to such brotherhoods. They perform different rituals mixing african beliefs and Islam. They believe trance has therapeutic powers.
