Tropical garden and casita in the Mott Haven section of the The Bronx, NY. It is a memorial to the gardener's mother, 2013.

The Patterson Houses is one of the largest, New York Housing Authority Complexes in the city. In 1962 the NYCHA established a program for resident gardeners that gives each of them 600 feet of land. Each year a prize is presented for the best gardens. The Rain-Forest Marta Diaz won a top prize in the city-wide, 46th Annual Garden Awards in 2008. The garden is meant to resemble a rainforest in Puerto Rico.
