Perhaps I should add that the reason I understoodminor surgery so well, was because I had a thoroughcourse of instruction under Doctor Jameson, whogained great experience in the Crimean War, I alsohad a manual that treated of the surgery during thatwar; so I could, and did assist in many amputations.
