Commence sowing the extra early varieties as early as the ground can be worked in February or March ; continue for a succession every two weeks until June, then discontinuing until the middle of August, when a good crop may be secured by sowing the extra early and early soils for fall use. They should be kept clean and earthed up twice during the The wrinkled varieties are not ; hardy as the small round sorts, and if planted early should have a dry soil, or they are liable to rot in the ground ; they are, however, the sweetest and best-flavored varieties.
