Bangladeshi Professor Muhammad Yunus wave hands to the people gathered at the Jatiya Shriti Sowdha, in Saver, Bangladesh, on Saturday 14 October 2006. Yunus and the Grameen Bank, of which he is founder and Manager, was awarded the Peace Nobel 2006, as announced by the Peace Nobel Committee in Oslo, Noruega, Friday 13 October 2006. Yunus founded the Grameen Bank, known as the 'Bank of the Poor', in the 70s and in 2006 the financial institution can boast million clients, of which 96% are women.
