The col-lege has given the net income of the building to the Association as wellas provided, without expense to the Association, the necessary rooms forthe executive work and officers. In addition to this, a committee ofladies collected funds and supervised the improvements which have addedmuch to the attractiveness of the building, the college itself obtainingadditional funds to equal the amount secured by the ladies. This provides a room for student meetings and their socialgatherings. A movement has been set under way by the students and the collegeauthorities to erect a new gymnasium for men and provide an endowmentfor a permanent athletic instructor. As in other things, the standard forthis has been set high and the effort is being made to secure $125,000. Toaccomplish this the faculty and students have turned to all friends of thecollege. It is the immediate need for the men and its completion andequipment will be of the greatest value. Altogether this past year has been marked by distinct advance in thatwhich makes for the best life and work of the college.
