Drink Coca-Cola, 1890s
Entitled: "Drink Coca-Cola 5 cents" shows a well dressed young woman, wearing hat, white gloves, and pearls, holding up a glass of Coca-Cola, seated at a table on which is a vase of roses, the "Drink Coca-Cola" sign, and a paper giving the location of the "Home Office (of the) Coca-Cola Co." as well as branch locations. Confederate Colonel John Pemberton who was wounded in the Civil War, became addicted to morphine, and began a quest to find a substitute for the dangerous opiate. The prototype Coca-Cola recipe was formulated at Pemberton's Eagle Drug and Chemical House, a drugstore in Columbus, Georgia, originally as a coca wine. No artist credited, dated 1890s.
