If the sun be allowed toshine brightly on the glass of a cold-frame or hotbed, it willsoon raise the temperature in the hotbed to a point that willdestroy the plants. It is , then, to pay close atten-tion to the bed and, when the sun shines, to slip the sashesdown or raise them and place a block under the upper end toallow the steam to pass off.
