SAN DIEGO (April 17, 2017) Capt. Rita Simmons, commanding officer, Naval Health Research Center (NHRC) and Vice Adm. Nora Tyson, commander, 3rd Fleet, discuss how research can improve the health and readiness of service members. During the tour, Simmons provided an overview of the command’s ongoing research, which investigates environmental physiology, infectious disease surveillance, sleep and fatigue mitigation studies, psychological health and resilience, and injury prevention and rehabilitation.
