The 4 remaining stones of Nine Stone Close stone circle, Derbyshire, looking S to Robin Hood's Stride where the major southern moon sets between the natural gritstone pinnacles when viewed from the circle. There were 7 stones of the 45ft () diameter circle still standing in 1847. Two of the stones are set in concrete, the tallest at the S has been reduced in height. There is a hermit's cave in the base of Cratcliff Tor adjacent to Robin Hood's Stride.
