Blue water side profile view of a red ferry moored and unloading vehicles at the Chacao ferry terminal, Chiloe Island, Chile
Vehicle ferries, every 30-35 minutes, provide access to Chiloe across the Canal de Chacao and across the Gulf of Corcovado, to Quellon, on the east side of the island. The journey from Pargua, on the mainland, to Chacao, on the northern tip of the island, takes some 40 minutes. Here we see a ferry moored at the concrete vehicle ramp at Chacao, below 'Welcome' signs to Chiloe island.
