The impressive red five story pagoda, or goju-no-to, rises 157 ft above the Senso-ji Temple compound and tourists in Tokyo,Japan, against a blue sky,

The five story pagoda at the Senso-ji Temple in Tokyo's Asakusa district is a recent reconstruction; the 942 original burned down many times, but the last replacement, built in 1648, was destroyed in WWII. The one we see today was built in 1971.
