Tai chi classes in Preston, UK May 2013. Feixia Yu Director, Uclan Confucius Institute, demonstrates Taoist Tai Chi arts, at the Chinese language and sports an exercise, lifestyle, leisure, female cultural event held in Avenham Park, organised by the Confucius Institute which is a partnership between University of Central Lancashire and Beijing International Studies University. The Director of UCLan Confucius Institute Feixia Yu commented: “The festival provides an opportunity to learn new language skills and share China’s traditions with the local community.”
Feixia Yu designed and developed Chinese at UCLan, taking it from an elective module to a joint subject on the Combined Honours degree programme, and then to BA(Hons) Business Management in China. In 2008, Feixia took on the role of Director for the UCLan Confucius Institute, which focuses on promoting Chinese language and Culture at local schools and developing stronger educational links with Chinese universities.
