About eight miles beyond the Upper GeyserBasin the road crosses the Continental Divide, andthen for a distance of about ten miles lies on thePacific Slope. From Shoshone Point a glimpsemay be had of Shoshone Lake, quietly nestledamong the mountains, and far away to the southmay be seen the towering peaks of the greatTetons.
