A percussion pistol, G. Soer in Magdeburg, circa 1860 Rifled, octagonal Damascus barrel with silver-inlaid signature on top. Finely engraved patent breechblock, on top inscribed with "2". Back-action percussion lock with lavishly chiselled snail and tendril engraving. Nipple protector and set trigger. Carved half stock made from beautifully grained root wood with iron furniture, engraved en suite. The stock with shrinkage cracks near the lock plate and the side opposite the lock.
