It was found especially abundant increvices of rocks at half-tide near Falmouth, by Mr. W. , and we have taken it abundantly beneath andgenerally attached to the under surface of stones betweentide-marks in. Plymouth Harbour, the flat surface of thebody enabling the animal to ensconce itself in very slightcrevices. The late Dr. Johnston also forwarded it to usfrom the Berwickshire coast. 320 ISOPODA. Broadly ovate ; sides of the segments strongly ciliated,witli hairs set on at right angles ; upper antennce four-jointed, terminal jointnot multiarticulate ; lower antenna3 not more than one-third of the length ofthe animal, with the third joint not half the length of the following ; pleonwith a deep semicircular notch, within which the two small caudal appendagesare visible, extending very slightly beyond the margin.
