These buyers practically cleaned the market, but they made their own prices. Tlie Course of Expansion. That the retail trade in flowers in Chicago is increasing steadily and rather rapidlj' no one doubts, but ask almost any established retailer and he will tell you his sales fluctuate little from year to year. How, then, is the increase made? The answer is found in the large number of new stores that have been 0])ened, not in the downtown cen- ter, but in outlying business sections.
