Clitocybose, root rot (Clitocyhe parasitica Wilcox). — This root rot, very similar to that caused by Armillaria mellea, p. 173, was described by Wilcox in Oklahoma in 1901 ^ as characterized chiefly by a copious exudation of gum from the crown of the diseased trees.
