Halevy, whose only lasting success was La Juive, composed otheroperas, such as Charles VI., La Peine deChypre, LEclair, and LesMousquetaires de la Peine, that achieved a certain amount of success inFrance, which success was interrupted by Halevys death at Nice in L862.
