His ancestorssettled in this country in the Seventeenth Century, andthey were held in high esteem and honored as valuedmembers of society. Some of them rendered faithfulservices in the war of the Revolution. The blood thatflowed in their veins belonged to the worlds best type—the blood of noble England and sturdy Scotland.
