On January 27th the National Association of Manufacturers,which met in convention in Philadelphia, visited the School in abody and adopted the following resolutions expressive of its ap-preciation of our work: This Association, having visited in a body the School of Indus-trial Art of the Pennsylvania Museum, and inspected its variousdepartments, desires to place on the minutes of the proceedings ofthis convention an expression, on the part of the convention, ofgratification in finding so extensive and well-equipped a technicalSchool; of the high character of its results as shown in the fin-ished work of the students ; and the endorsement of its plan, pur-pose and scope. We recognize in this School a most powerful factor for produc-ing from the ranks of our youth earnest, industrious and intel-ligent citizens, whose influence will be to strengthen the Class in Interior Decorations. We congratulate our President, Mr. Theodore C. Search, uponhis connection with and support of this School, and wish himGodspeed in his noble and philanthropic work. On June 2d the School was honored by a visit from the^Presi-dent of the United States, who came as the guest of Vice-Presi-dent Search, and was received by the Trustees and Associate Com-mittee of Women. He made a tour of inspection through thedifferent departments, in which he manifested great interest andof which he expressed high approval, and in a short address tothe students he congratulated them upon the splendid oppor-tunities afforded them by the School. On October 27th and 28th the New England Cotton Manufac-turers Association held its regular semi-annual meeting in theAuditorium, having met in Philadelphia with the express pur-pose of giving its members an opportunity to inspect the School, 24 whose work had already been, in part at least, described to themby
