D. was composed of natural spenders, and I have often heard it remarked that the florists, as well as the wage-earners, ought to save their much increased in- come while this condition lasted, for it was not going to last long. But the days of ammunition factory and dry- dock wages have been over for a year and a half, and yet it only requires a visit to any of these small stores to see that they have by no means gone back to pre-war conditions, but are to- day doing a more stable business than they did during the war. Of course, I do not mean by this that their receipts are as large as on some fixed dates, such as pay day in the factories, but I do mean that their general business in the aggregate is as good as then.
