Royal Air Force Fighter Command, 1939-1945. Supermarine Spitfire Mark IXEs of No. 331 (Norwegian) Squadron RAF, lined up at Gardermoen, north of Oslo, on their arrival in Norway. The Squadron passed to the control of the Royal Norwegian Air Force, formally disbanding from the RAF in November 1945. The nearest aircraft (PL187 'FN-Z), already bears RNoAF markings on its rudder and spinner.
