Still holding this honorableappointment, Mr. Nordheimer isserving the country of his birth, andas a British subject, his MR. A. G. MACKAYLeader of the Liberal Party in Ontario Mr. A. G. MacKay, the new Leader of the Opposition in the Ontario Legislature,assumes the leadership of the Party with a clean public record. It is true that he wasfor a short time a member of the Ross Government which was so overwhelminglydefeated in the last election, but none of the reputation v/hich attaches to that Cabinetrests on Mr. MacKay. He comes from Owen Sound, where, for a number of years hepracticed law. That he stands well with the public is shown by the fact, on hisreturn to Owen Sound after his selection for the leadership, one of the first men tocongratulate him and bear testimony to his ability was Mr. James McLaughlan, theprincipal leader of the Conservative Party in that district.
