Milky Way and nebulae over mountain valley in Tibet. Band of the Milky Way in the night sky over Buddhist stupas in Gyirong valley, on the border between Nepal and Tibet, western China. The Milky Way is our galaxy seen from the inside, forming a band of stars and nebulae stretching across the sky. This region is in the constellation of Cygnus, featuring the North America Nebula (top right) and the Pelican and Butterfly nebulae. Photographed on 27 September 2014.
