Rock art, Karkhur Talh, Uweinat, Egypt

Karkhur Talh (Acacia Valley) is a wadi at the base of Jebel Uweinat (Uwaynat) straddling the borders of Libya, Egypt and Sudan. Surrounded by sand sheets Uweinat covers 1500 square Kilometres and consists of granite, sandsone and Quartz trachyte formations.  Karkhur Tahl hides images of ancient rock-art on its many walls. Lions, giraffes, ostriches, gazelles and cows are the most ancient with more modern additions of camels.
