KOREAN BARBERRY Increasing use of hedges is being made in landscape planting. In sections where evergreen hedges are difficult, a great variety of deciduous plants have been found to serve well. Hedges are used for windbreaks, for boundary plantings, for architectural effects about house and terrace, and to provide the necessary frame for garden views and background for floral beauty. We list on this page plants which have been found useful for planting in hedge rows. Among them will be found plants suitable for both tall and low hedges; some of which bear foliage only, and others which in addition to the thick wall of leaves necessary to pro- duce a good hedge, will in season bear flowers, or fruit.
