Burgess-Dunne seaplane, 1910s. The US Burgess Company produced a range of aircraft between 1910 and 1918. This one is based on the Dunne tailless swept wing biplane, with the wings forming a V-shape. Smaller floats are at the end of each wing, with a larger one under the fuselage. The Dunne-Burgess seaplane first flew in 1914. This one was for the New York Naval Militia (founded 1890s). This photograph is from the Bain News Service, one of the USA's earliest news picture libraries.
