Washburn, born February 5,1836. Sergeant of Company E, FourthRegiment, Massachusetts Volunteer Mili-tia, April 16 to July 22, 1861. EnteredTwenty-Second Massachusetts Volunteersas First Lieutenant. Was severelywounded at battle of Gaines Mill, June27, 1862; was captured and held at LibbyPrison. Promoted Captain July 11, for disability on account ofwounds received in action to date, January5, 1863. Enjo\-s the respect and affectionof survivors of the Fourth and Twenty-Second Regiments. Died February 24,1900. 314 Minute Men of 61. Thomas L/Owery, on his mothers side,was a member of Provincial Congress ofHvintington County in 1775. He wascommissioned June IS, 1776, and in 1780when the Ami}- greatly needed supplies,his wife was one of the ten women tooperated with women of other counties tosolicit contributions. In twelve days theyraised fifteen thousand four hundred andeight dollars. Mary Ivowery was one of the thirteenyoung ladies who scattered^ floral treasuresin Washingtons pathway in Trenton,New Jersey, April 1789 enroute to hisinauguration. Mr. Henry is still a resi-dent of New Bern, N. C, where he is en-gaged in the retail drug business. Hisson, David P.
