Guided tram transport system. Guided electric rubber-tyred tram operating on the Caen Guided Light Transit, a public transport system in Caen, Normandy, France. The electrical power is supplied by overhead cables via a pantograph, while the tram follows a guide rail on the roadway. It is also referred to as a tramway on tyres. The guided dual-mode buses are articulated, with three sections each. This model is produced by Bombardier, and operated by the French company Twisto. The Caen Guided Light Transit opened in 2002. It has two lines and covers some 15 kilometres.
