Dermoscopy image of a large congenital naevus (mole) with smaller compound naevus on the skin of a 46 year old female patient. A naevus is a harmless birthmark or mole composed of dark pigmented skin cells (melanocytes). They are mostly benign (non-cancerous), but can sometime become malignant (cancerous).
