Carcinoma of the superficial lymphatics appears tobe, if the expression be allowed, a carcinomatous lymphangitis. Insome cases the deep carcinoma becomes adherent to the chest-wall andcontinues to contract, but at the same time continues to extend afterreaching the gland in the side.
