Frederic Clement Lariviere is descend-ed from one of the pioneer families ofMontreal; the first of the name, whocame from La Provence, was married onApril 19 in the old church of NotreDame. Mr. Lariviere is a son of thelate Adolphe C. Lariviere and a nephewof Hon. A. A. C. Lariviere, forProvencher. He was educated at theCommercial Academy of Dfe Plateau,where he won the Edward Murphy prize,a gold medal and a purse of $50 in then entered the hardware store ofJ. H. Wilson, Notre Dame street west,. F. C. LARIVIERE. in whose employ he remained for 12years, becoming chief accountant andgeneral manager. In 1892 he joined thefirm of Amiot & Lecours, which was suc-ceeded in 1902 by Amiot, Lecours & La-riviere, and in 1908 the name of thecompany was changed to Lariviere In-corporated. Mr. Lariviere lias always taken a deepinterest in public affairs. He is a char-ter member of la Chambre de Commerceand has been a member of the Board ofTrade since July, 1887.
