In Madagascaria occidua inter Ansanafi et Ansunaki supra B era vi ad pedes montis Beturea sive Rano-bé cum Hyphaene Hüdehrandtii (vulgo »Sata«) immixta legit Hildebrandt (Confer: Zeitschrift für Erdkunde XV, p. 107). 3. Hyphaene Gaertn. Perplurimae in Africa inter se affines et difficillime discriminandae Hy- phaenarum species crescunt, quae intra limites plus minusve late defînitos crescere soient et probaliter formis intermediis connexae sunt. Species descriptae pro maxima parte fructibus tantum notae sunt et nihil saepe de natura florum et Organum vegetationis earum constat; vel si nonnullarum specierum flores in herbariis servantur, qualis sit earum fructus dubium manet.
