Monte de Santa LuziaIts is a a Byzantine Revival temple of the 20th century. Construction began in 1904 on the initiative of the Confraternity of Santa Luzia and was completed more than 50 years later in 1959 although it was opened for worship in 1926. The delay was due to the establishment of the Republic in 1910 and the tumultuous years that followed.
