Northern side of Moravian Pottery and Tile Works Doylestown Pennsylvania. Poured concrete structure.
Long northern side of Moravian Pottery and Tile Works. Two story concrete structure with more windows in bottom story that top. Buttresses divide building into sections and multitude of chimneys rise from concrete roof. Small red tiled roof tower in center. Grass in foreground. Moravian Pottery and Tile Works is a unique poured concrete building designed and built by Henry Mercer during the Art and Crafts movement. It reflects the Spanish influence on mission architecture and was completed in 1912. It produced hand made tiles and mosaics for floors, walls and ceilings. Now a National Historic Landmark it is maintained as a working "working history" museum still producing a few limited decorative ceramic tiles.
