The entire plant isnormally operated by two men to ashift. The Westinghouse Single-Phase Systemhas many economical advantages. Notethe absence of cables on the overheadcatenary line construction; also the self-operating transformer station, as com-pared with the rotary converter sub-stations and attendants, necessary ondirect current systems.
