The facade of Temple 22, near the highest point of the Copán Acropolis. The sky band is supported on either side by the Pawahtun titans (Mayan deities that hold up the world). Several stone skulls at floor level represent the underworld. The entrance to Temple 22 considered at the level of the earth, between the underworld and the sky.
