A triple portrait of Charles I (1600-1649). Born into the House of Stuart, he was king of England, Scotland, and Ireland from 27 March 1625 until his execution in 1649. Painting by Sir Anthony van Dyck (1599-1641), a Flemish Baroque artist who became the leading court painter in England.
