Various prehistoric animals occupy the wetlands of northwest China.

This is what is now northwest China and a grouping of various denizens of the region from 125 million years ago. The parrot faced four legged dinosaurs are Psittacosaurus, an early Ceratopsian. The pterosaurs are Dsungaripterus which had wingspans about 8 feet and had beaks designed for digging up shellfish in marsh muds. In the background is the last of the Stegosaurs. Wuerhosaurus is the only known Stegosaur of the Cretaceous. They could get to 23 feet long. Crocodiles are a frequent denizen of any prehistoric swamp.
