To pro-mote this feeling of mental equality, regardless of sex, intellectual standardsfrom earliest childhood should be thesame. That the man may respect thewoman, the boy should respect thegirl. This difference in the education ofthe sexes is growing, let us rejoice, lessmarked as time advances. We stillhear a good deal about the experi-mental stage of higher education, since it has not yet been proved that. it does not interfere with womansfunctions. Yet women go serenelyon taking yearly their summa cumlaude, and, to crown all, they evenmarry and become the physicians de-light, the intelligent mothers ofchildren. Though women may well feel them-selves plaintiffs in a pending legalcause, we believe there is more reasonto feel encouraged at the present in-tellectual outlook than to be disheart-ened.
