A few years later he bought out the old planing millon Ontario Street, which he operated successfully until his businessdemanded larger premises. In the winter of 1S95 he built the largenew mill on Ontario Street, which was, unfortunately, destro^^ed byfire on June 21st, 1898. In the winter of 1899 he commenced topromote the Hotel Brant, and after a year of persevering effort suc-ceeded in obtaining the necessary capital. The hotel was built thefollowing year, and opened on July 2nd. Mr. Coleman has built agreat many houses in Burlington, both for himself and others, aswell as the greater part of the Beach. He has executed many largecontracts in Ontario, and during the past summer has been engaged• on some large buildings in Toronto, Durham, Fort Erie and Residence of James Harrison, Esq., Water Street.
