Exhibition of Czech memorial scrolls, Westminster Synagogue, London, 1974. Rabbi A H Friedlander comparing an Etz Chayim (Tree of Life) with those on display. The exhibition marked the tenth anniversary of restoration of the Torah handles, and also the tenth anniversary of the memorial scrolls committee which is in charge of 1,500 Sifrei Torah (Torah scrolls) rescued from Czechoslovakia after the Second World War. Almost 500 scrolls have been repaired and placed with communities throughout the world.
