Höfdi House in Reykjavik, Iceland. Designed in Norway, it was built for the French Consul and was transported to Iceland in kit form where it was constructed in 1909. From 1938 until after WWII is was the residence of the British Consul and later ambassador. The City Of Reykjavik bought the house in 1958 and since 1967 it has been a reception house for the City government. In October 1986 Reagan and Gorbachev met here for a summit which is regarded as having marked the beginning of the end of the cold war.
