It ischaracteristic of Hubert Van Eycks work (since,according to all evidence, Hubert must be con-sidered as the author of the general outlines ofthe picture, which was finished by his brother Janafter his death) that perhaps the least satisfactoryfigure of the Adoration of the Lamb is the Deity,while our attention is immediately captured bythe group of angels surrounding Him, and stillmore by the procession of worshippers at thebottom of the picture.
