Northampton, UK. 31st July 2012. A huge puppet Godiva Awakes is part of Artists taking the lead, a series of 12 public art commissions across the UK to celebrate the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad, funded by Arts Council England. She arrives in the Market Square to a carnival atmosphere, and waits for the boot parade to arrive to have the 6ft high made-to-measure leather riding boots fitted, which have been made by Northampton-based bespoke boot maker Horace Batten.
