'Washington Bridge, over the Harlem River 181st Street Imposing of steel iron and granite, 2,384 feet long and 80 feet wide. Cost $2,700,000. One the south band of the river is the speedway, 1¼ miles long, built by the city at a cost of $3,000,000 for the special use of drivers of fast horses.
