April 1, 2020. Russia. Moscow on coronavirus lockdown. Rush hour at Sukharevskaya metro station. Moscow authorities imposed home isolation for all Moscow residents, regardless of their age, and restrictions on movement within the city, effective since March 30, 2020, as a measure to contain the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus infection. Violations of the stay-at-home order carry fines ranging from 1,000 to 40,000 rubles for non-infected people, and up to 1m rubles or imprisonment for up to 3 years for infected people, depending on the severity of consequences.
