At the close of Mother Vincent Ferrers secondterm of office, July 25, 1897, Sister BernardineBushue was elected prioress. Like her predeces-sor, Mother Bernardine had been a successfulteacher, and had aided in the establishment of theeastern missions. She at once set about beautifyingthe chapel, convent and grounds.
