Recruits with Bravo Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, scale an obstacle during a confidence course event at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, June 25. Many of the obstacles test the recruits’ confidence and mental strength in overcoming the challenges before them. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Bravo Company is scheduled to graduate Aug. 31.
